Worship is about love! When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, he said there were two:“Jesus answered, ‘The first is, “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” The second is this, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.’” Mark 12:29-31
We come together every Sunday morning to love God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength. Therefore, our worship seeks to engage the whole person through the experience of sacred space and prayer, uplifting music, and the proclaimed Word of God that challenges and comforts, inquires and inspires. Worship is also a time to share with one another the love God shows us in Jesus Christ! So, we embrace the community that is unique to those followers of Christ who love, not because it is a commandment, but because they have received love…
“So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. So we are ambassadors (representatives) for Christ…” 2 Corinthians 5:17-20
You are invited to come and explore this amazing love as we worship together! We offer two worship experiences on Sunday mornings in the Celebration Center. The 8:30 a.m. service is more traditional with time for meditative prayer and hymns accompanied by a piano. The 11:00 a.m. service is more contemporary with a blend of the old and new with the accompaniment of a praise band. And, come as you are. Our dress code is casual. You’re sure to find a loving environment of hospitality and fellowship in both services!
If this will be your first time to visit and experience the grace of Grace UMC, you can find more information for “first time guests” here.
We look forward to welcoming you this coming Sunday morning!
