Worship with
Grace UMC Online!

A new sermon series from Pastor Frank begins August 29: “Straight Talk.”

The Book of James is a short epistle near the end of the New Testament. It is very straight forward in how followers of Christ should conduct themselves. “Straight Talk” will examine the words we use– and why– in order to build authentic community.

8-29 James 1:17-27 Quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to grow angry.

9-5 James 2:1-17 Speak and act as people of (true) freedom.

9-12 James 3:1-12 Blessing and cursing come from one place.

9-19 James 3:13-4:3, 7-8a Words of wisdom.

9-26 James 5:13-20 Praise, prayer, and song.

Hurricane Relief

We are collecting cleaning supplies following recent storms in Louisiana. Each kit contains roughly $75 of supplies. Here’s what is needed:

We will put the kits together 10:45-11:30 a.m. on Oct 3.

Justice

Participating as a pilot church in the North Texas Conference’s Congregational Journey Toward Racial Justice has helped us to form our justice ministry and move forward with racial justice as our initial focus. We plan to widen our congregational understanding of biblical justice and the importance of what and why God is calling us to do. Our Journey Toward Racial Justice team continues to practice having difficult conversations on topics of racial justice and how important spoken words can be.

Daily Devotionals

Looking for a new way to connect with God daily? The Upper Room daily devotionals may be just what you’re looking for. Each day you will find a new devotion with a focus on a particular scripture and prayer specifically for that day. Join us daily as we connect closer to God.
